I have been given the honour of being the official photographer for the Hathersage Hurtle. Now having walked the route, all 20 miles of it, to look for good points to photograph the event, I can say that this will be an event that you will want to do. Granted, it is a challenge to walk or run, but the views and feeling of accomplishment outweigh all of that. If you are lucky there could still be walker or runner places left (depending when you read this article)… here are the links to find out more about the Hathersage Hurtle…

Here is a snippet of the views that you will see on the all new Hathersage Hurtle route, a 20 mile circular that begins and ends in Hathersage.

Below is the sweep of the mighty Stanage Edge captured from Stanage End with Bamford Edge in view..

then the view from Stanage down all of the Hope valley with a glimpse of the Edale Valley and Kinder Scout on the horizon…

and here somebody taking the time to take in this view, looking out to Win Hill…

then various views through Upper Burbage and Lower Burbage taking in views of Higger Tor, Carl Wark, Over Owler Tor and out towards the Longshaw Estate and Eyam Moor…

this is a taster… to see the rest of the route, register at www.hathersagehurtle.com and come and walk or run the route on 21st May
